Michael Linares

Michael D. Linares Vázquez (Bayamón, PR, 1979) is a visual artist, curator and co-director of Beta-Local. His work explores the symbolic power of objects, treating them as bodies charged with memory, history, and spirit. Through disfigurations and interventions that dismantle their conventional functions, he seeks to activate new forms of perception and agency. His work has been presented at LACMA, the São Paulo Biennial, the Museo de Arte Moderno de Medellín, and Art in General. He lives and works in San Juan.
