Fabián Vélez

Fabián Vélez (Santurce, Puerto Rico, 1978) is a sound artist, composer and multi-instrumentalist whose work spans experimental music, sound design, and performance. Active since the 1990s, he is a key figure in Puerto Rico’s independent and avant-garde music scene. Vélez  has released multiple solo and collaborative works and has participated in international exhibitions, biennials, and film projects. His practice explores synthesis, analog tape, and concrete music through both sonic and sculptural forms.As part of his artistic contribution to Transmigração, Vélez contributes on a live version of Michael Linares’ work La Caída del Alfiler (2025), a sound composition created using modular synthesis and electrodes connected to living plants
